Hamburger Supper and Bake Sale
Every April Latch Key has their annual Hamburger Supper. At the Hamburger Supper we serve Hamburgers with chips and a drink, as well as we have a bake sale. This supper involves every aspect of the program. The children are responsible for creating the decorations and centerpieces for the supper with the help of their teacher. The board members are the servers and the staff members get drinks for the supporters, as well as cleaning up as the supporters leave. All workers, staff and board member, volunteer all the time for the evening.
Before the supper the board members are responsible for collecting donations for the supplies needed for the supper. Thanks to the local businesses the only expense for the program is the purchase of bread products.
The Pecan Valley Kiwanis Club have continued to volunteer to prepare the hamburgers and hotdogs over the years.
This event is held the second Tuesday of April each year!
100 from 100
At the beginning of each year the program asks a prominent individual in the community to write a letter asking supporters to make a donation. We ask for a donation of $100 from 100 people but gladly accept any amount that supporters feel they can donate. Click here to read the donation letter.
Memorials
Latch Key also receives funding in the form of memorials. This allows friends and family of loved ones to make a donation to our program in lieu of flowers. If you wish to have memorials sent in lieu of flowers for your loved ones please have them sent to:
